Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT), under construction in Chile, could help scientists answer big questions about the universe.
At ten times the diameter of the Hubble, it will also make images of things like distant planets transiting in front of stars ten times as sharp. When completed, the GMT’s enclosure will stand 22 stories tall and encompass an area the size of three football fields.
